What is New Beginnings?

A UNIQUE PROGRAM
New Beginnings is a unique weekend especially designed to respond to the issues, concerns and needs of teenagers in grades 7-9. It was created in the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida by adults and young people to help participants grow in their love of themselves, others and the Lord Jesus Christ

A PROGRAM FOR YOUTH
Any person in grades 7-9 can attend a New Beginnings weekend. Participants do not have to be Episcopalians, but must be recommended through an Episcopal Church and have the backing of an adult sponsor from that church. Because this weekend is sponsored by the Episcopal Church, there will be no illegal drugs, no alcohol, no sex, no tobacco products and no destruction of property or personhood allowed on the weekend Any breaking of these rules will result in being sent home immediately.

WEEKEND FORMAT
New Beginnings is held twice a year, spring and fall. The program starts on Friday at 7:00 PM and continues until Sunday at 4:00 PM There are a series of songs, skits, tapes, talks (by youth and adults) and small group discussions. These focus around subjects such as Self, Friends, Parents, Siblings, School, God's Love, Prayer, Who is Jesus? and the Church. There is also plenty of playing, laughing, creating and sharing. Participants will not only learn and grow, but will also have the time of their lives.
