" You have not chosen me, But I
have chosen you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit."
John 15:16
Purpose of the Center
The Episcopal Center for Renewal provides programs which draw people closer
to God, strengthens them in spiritual disciplines, and teaches them how to share
their faith with others. These programs are designed to reach junior high
youth, older teens, and adults and to help them to fulfill Christ's Great
Commission:
"Go therefore to all nations and make them my disciples; baptism them
in the name of the Father and Son and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to
observe all that I have commanded you. I will be with you always, to the end of
time." Matt 28:19-10
History
The Center was founded in 1974 by the Rt. Rev. A. Donald Davies, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, with Fr. Patric Hutton as Director. When Fr. Hutton retired in 1984, he was replaced by the present director, Frank Bain.
Currently, the Center is a non profit corporation serving both the Dioceses of Dallas and Fort Worth, and operating under the authority of both Bishops. Programs of the Center are administrated by the Director, an assistant, and scores of volunteers.
